How to reach us

The fastest way is from inside the app: All tab → My markers · Feedback. A person answers every message, and you get a notification when the reply arrives — with or without an account.

Prefer email? Use the address above. Bug reports, corrections and partnership ideas are all welcome. Telling us your device (iPhone / Android), the app version and which screen it happened on helps us answer much faster.

Frequently asked questions

Does it cost anything?

KORE is free to download and use. The worldwide toilet map and details, directions, adding toilets and suggesting edits, reviews and ratings, and raising KORE all cost nothing. The free version shows ads.

There are two optional monthly subscriptions:

  • KORE Premium — no ads · +10% from KORE flushes · 3× away-time rewards in Grow · a special Champion toilet when you join · a glowing gold profile with a rainbow border
  • Ad-free — banner ads disappear; everything else is the same as Free

Coin and crystal packs in KORE are optional too. Prices are shown on the payment screen, exactly as your store charges them. The map's condition filter (the funnel) was retired in 2.2.0; “Clean only” is still available to everyone.

How do I subscribe to, cancel or restore KORE Premium?

Subscribe from KORE Premium at the top of the All tab. It renews monthly and is billed by the App Store or Google Play. If you're eligible for a free trial, the subscription screen shows it; cancel before the trial ends and you aren't charged.

To cancel, tap Manage subscription on that screen to open your store's subscription settings. You keep access until the paid period ends. On a new phone or after reinstalling, tap Restore purchases. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription — cancel it in your store as well.

Does it work outside Korea?

Yes. Since 2.2.0 the map shows toilets in 230+ countries: zoom out for each country's count, zoom in for the pins. Toilets abroad show opening hours, floor and fee where they're on record, and their names, addresses and notes are translated into the app's language with the original alongside.

Abroad, the Google Maps · Apple Maps buttons on the detail screen take you there. Korea's data and its in-app walking directions are unchanged.

Do I need an account?

No. Browsing the map, adding toilets, suggesting edits or removal, reviews and ratings, raising KORE and “Only me” markers all work without logging in.

With an account your KORE progress, favorites and history follow you to a new phone, and what you built up as a guest moves over when you log in. Your nickname, flag and (optional) profile photo appear in rankings and on reviews.

Until you sign up, though, your progress and purchases are kept in this device's guest record, and deleting the app without signing up loses them for good. If you bought a pack, please sign up before deleting the app (signing up carries everything over; logging in to an existing account moves it there).

Do I have to allow location access?

No, but it helps: the map opens where you are, with distances and the three nearest toilets (yellow pins). Without it you can still move the map yourself to any area.

Location is used only while the app is in use — never in the background.

Some information is wrong, or a restroom is missing.

Open the toilet and tap Something wrong? Suggest an edit or removal on its detail screen — for any toilet, in Korea or abroad, no login needed. If a place isn't on the map at all, add it with the + (Add Toilet Marker) button on the map.

Additions and edit requests are reviewed before they go live. Follow what you sent under All → My markers · Feedback; you're notified when it's handled. Approved additions count toward the contributor ranking and earn KORE coins and crystals.

What do the pin colours mean?
  • Red pin — public restroom
  • Blue pin — clean restroom (the darker, the cleaner)
  • Yellow pin — the nearest ones (numbered 1 · 2 · 3)
  • Green star — a restroom you saved
  • Teal pin — your “Only me” restroom

The same guide is in the app under All → Map pin guide. The ★ button on the map turns the green stars on and off.

How does navigation work?

In Korea, Walking directions on the detail screen draws the route right in the app, and the TMAP · KakaoMap · Naver Map buttons below it hand you to your usual navigation app. Abroad, KORE hands you to Google Maps · Apple Maps.

How do I change the language?

All tab → Change language. KORE speaks Korean, English, Japanese, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese, and switching changes toilet names, addresses, facility details and reviews too.

Who can see my reviews?

Reviews on public toilets are visible to everyone as soon as you post them. They're stored in the language you wrote and shown translated in the others. Others can reply, and you're notified when they do. You can edit or delete your own reviews at any time. Reviews show your nickname, or “Anonymous” if you have none.

What is “Raise KORE”?

In the KORE tab you raise KORE, the toilet mascot. Flush what piles up to earn coins, and merge two toilets of the same level into the next one. Collect all 30 levels and the hidden Easter egg toilets, decorate your room with coins and crystals, and compete in the global rankings on highest level and decor score.

There's a 30-day attendance board and daily and weekly missions — and helping the map (reviews, ratings, “Is it open?” checks, approved additions) earns coins and crystals as well.

My KORE progress or the coins I bought are missing.

KORE coins, crystals and progress are stored on our server, so reopen the KORE tab while you're online. To continue on another device, log in with the same account.

If you paid and the coins or crystals never arrived, email us at the address above with your store receipt (order number) and we'll sort it out.

Can I cancel or get a refund for paid coins and crystals?

Payments are handled by the App Store / Google Play, so please request a refund through your store first (App Store: reportaproblem.apple.com; Google Play: Play Store → Payments & subscriptions → Budget & history).

Under Korea's Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, unused paid coins and crystals can be withdrawn within 7 days of payment. If some were used, only the unused part is refunded; coins and crystals already spent, and the items or toilets bought with them, cannot be withdrawn. Free coins are always spent first, and paid coins oldest purchase first.

Once a store refund goes through, whatever is left of the coins from that purchase — or, for a crystal pack, that pack's amount (down to zero) — is taken back. To ask us, use All tab → Feedback in the app or email us with the payment date and the product.

Where did the Games tab go?

In version 2.1.0 the Games tab became the KORE tab. Your earlier game records are turned into coins once, the first time you open KORE.

Deleting your account and data

While signed in, go to All → the Account card at the bottom → Delete Account, confirm, and re-enter your password. Your account, nickname, profile photo and country, your submissions and edit suggestions, "only me" markers, feedback, favorites, history and notification details are deleted immediately, and your KORE records (coins, crystals, items, Grow), Grow ranking entry and review likes are deleted automatically too. Records of coin and crystal purchases are kept for 5 years from the payment date, as the law requires (Privacy Policy, section 5).

Deleting your account does not cancel KORE Premium or any other subscription — cancel it in your store's subscription settings.

Reviews, review replies, star ratings, "Is it open?" answers and earlier game records stay after the account is deleted. Reviews and replies keep the nickname they were written under. You can delete reviews and replies yourself in the app before deleting the account. To have ratings and earlier game records removed as well, email us before deleting the account, from the address you signed up with, and we'll delete them without delay.

If you used KORE without signing in there is no Delete Account option, so email us to have your records removed. Restroom information that has already been approved and published stays, because it has become part of the map other people use.

What is collected and why is set out in the Privacy Policy.
